Last week, Boone stayed at a kennel for the first time ever! This was a monumental day for the both of us. I felt like I was sending him off to kindergarten - he had a bag lunch (I didn't have anymore ziplock bags) and his favorite toy. The first day, he didn't do too well, causing me to realize what it's like to be the parent of a bad child. Upon first meeting him, Boone is a nervous dog. I know some of you that know him are doubting that statement, but he can be a very timid dog. Such was the case on this particular day. BUT on the next day, he had such a great time that he didn't want to get in the car and go home. Patience is the word with Boone.... I was so proud of him for showing off the good side of his personality...
Boone has also recently figured out he has a shadow -- now this is hilarious! He doesn't know whether to bark at it, chase it, or slap at it! Sometimes he does all three.
And one more Boone story and I promise I'm done. over the weekend I dogsat for my friend Ike. He has a beautiful and super smart yellow lab named Jake. Boone was staying at my mom's house Thursday - Sunday because I was having my flooded house fixed and if Boone were here he'd insist on being nosey. You should have seen Boone when he got in my car and smelled another dog. He went spastic. He was turning around and around in circles smelling the seat. I guess he was a little jealous.
It kills me when people have pets, but they don't spend time getting to know them. They can be very smart creatures if you just love on them a little. If you have a dog or cat, give them a hug for crying out loud.
