history repeats itself...

I would like to dedicate this blog and the previous one...and perhaps even more in the future...to my crazy, weirdo neighbor. If you happen to read this, dear neighbor.....well, i don't even know how to finish that sentence....

The setting is of course my neighborhood between the hours of 8:30 and 9:00 PM last night. Boone and I are about to embark upon our nightly walk. We don't even make it down the stairs before we're bombarded with 4 shihtzu dogs. The nieghborhood refers to these as the 'demonic dogs' because they are just that. Boone loves to meet and play with other dogs, but these are the exception because they are sooo MEAN!! So like I said, we can't even make it off the doorsteps because the dogs are yelping at us. I commence to kicking at them (I seriously WOULD NOT actually kick them....I don't think....) and yelling at them to go away! They would have none of this. Then all of a sudden my crazy neighbor pops up in my yard, grabs my rake that was by the doorstep, asks me if I can borrow the rake as he is doing it already...and then starts beating the crap out of his dogs. I might add that he reeked of alcohol. Then he says, "How long have you lived here?" And I'm thinking...I've already talked to you several times - once when your car broke down in my drive way and you were refusing to move it until I got all 'redhead' on you, twice, when you were blocking the entire road.... - but I said nothing....I just smiled and said about two and a half years now. He said some other things, but it was getting dark, I live in the woods, no other neighbors could see us, so I was becoming a scared little girl. He tries to get his dogs to go on with him and once again they burst out in ridiculously loud barks - no they weren't even barks - they were annoying little dog yelps!! Then my neighbor actually starts kicking one of the dogs. And I mean he KICKED him a couple of times. But still this did not work. So he picked another dog up and started beating this one with his hand and carrying him away....

I know this neighbor obviously has some emotional issues. I could go on and on with the stories. It's sad to see a grown man act like this.....

On a happier note, my memorial day weekend was very memorable with a trip up to the mountains to visit some of my family. I stayed with my aunt and uncle and let them pamper me all weekend. I love the mountains - life is much more peaceful and slow....I love it. The town where they live is tiny - one elementary school, one middle school, one high school - and they're all right there together. good times.....
